- Han - often described as an internalized feeling of deep . sorrow, resentment, grief, regret and anger, a uniquely Korean characteristic borne out of the country's long history of invasion, oppression and suffering
Hands of Seoul is a street photography project consisting of 95 images taken in Seoul over the course of two days. It’s a portrait of a previously war torn, post-colonial city where a dark history lingers despite the modern technology and beloved pop culture phenomenons. The series aims to capture “Han” and the contemplative nature of Korean society, adjusting and persisting through the rapid, major changes. This while also portraying the first impression by a foreigner trying to reconnect with her roots.
